PAM and GDPR Compliance
Starting in May 2018, European companies and organizations have been required to meet strict cybersecurity standards in order to comply with new regulations aimed to protect individuals’ personal information and privacy under GDPR – the General Data Protection Regulation. Hence, data management and data protection policies must change to meet these minimum requirements.
This paper explores how GDPR will affect systems administered by privileged users by reviewing:
- GDPR’s impact on access control
- The role of PAM in “privacy by design” as well as GDPR-related audit, compliance documentation, and incident response.
