MAINTENANCE POLICY

The numbering of WALLIX software versions comprises three parts: X.Y.Z (e.g. 4.1.0)

Where:

  • X is the major version number
  • Y is the minor version number
  • Z is the maintenance revision

For the purposes of this Maintenance Policy, the term “version” refers to the major and minor version only, defined by the first two digits (4.1 in the above example).

Version Maintenance Level End of support
Latest Version (Current version) Active Not yet announced
Previous Version (Version before latest) Regular 2 years after the initial release date of the following version (“current” in this case)
All other versions Long term 2 years after the initial release date of the following version

Maintenance Level Definition

1. Active Maintenance

WALLIX provides regular maintenance revisions incorporating patches to any pressing priority issues. When a customer is facing critical(1) issues with a revision of the current version, patches are delivered on that same revision. Resolution of other (non-critical) issues will be deferred to the next maintenance revision.

3. Regular Maintenance

WALLIX releases periodic maintenance revisions as critical issues are resolved. When a customer is facing critical(1) issues with a revision of the previous version, patches are delivered on that same revision.

2. Long Term Maintenance

For all versions other than the current or previous version, WALLIX delivers only maintenance releases (not patches), as and when critical(1) issues are resolved.
