New leader in Privileged User Management (PUM) solutions enters the UK market

London – 27 January 2012 : WALLIX, (www.wallix.com)  best known as the leading vendor of appliance based Privileged User Management (PUM) systems is joining the list of international software vendors to focus on the UK market as a major step in their international business development plans.

Wallix has a unique approach to IT security with a particular emphasis on mitigating the threats from internal security risks and the externalisation of information systems. Since its creation, Wallix has been growing rapidly and gaining market share, supported by partners and certified value added resellers (VARs) across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Russia and North America.

Wallix provides two complimentary security solutions: The Wallix AdminBastion (WAB) and the Wallix Logbox (WLB). The WAB is a platform to deliver priviledged user access, compliance and traceability solutions with integrated session recording.

The WLB collects and stores log files generated by security devices, servers, application servers and network devices and can easily integrate with SIM/SEM solutions for further analysis.  Both technologies are agentless which makes the solutions quick and easy to deploy. The WAB and WLB are both available as physical and/or virtual appliances.

Through the WAB and WLB, WALLIX aims to restore trust in a large Enterprise’s IT infrastructure by providing an audit, trust and traceability solution that allows IT teams to know precisely who has done what, when, where and most importantly how.

By working closely with Chief Technical Officers and Chief Security Officers Wallix is helping them to control internal IT and to implement risk management policies that meet tough compliance standards whilst mitigating threats linked to the externalisation of IT.

Jean-Noël de Galzain, the founder of WALLIX, explains: “We advocate a safe IT governance and digital trust policy within organizations and we are very excited by the demand we are seeing from the UK for our solutions. Our Investors have made significant investments in our capabilities which will allow WALLIX to gain market share in the UK where compliance is an issue many companies are wrestling with. Our strong technology, support and market knowledge will help the WAB and WLB to quickly become the products of choice within the UK for Privileged User Management solutions.”

As part of our commitment to growing the UK market WALLIX  recently appointed Nick Lewis to spearhead their expansion plans. Nick brings more than 25 years' experience of corporate sales and channel-management leadership to Wallix. He previously held senior positions with Access Technology, Visual Numerics, Corvu, SAS and Webroot Software, where he was a key member of the team that launched their EMEA business.

More recently, Nick has enjoyed tremendous success with Ampreso, where he worked closely with a number of high- profile organisations, including Baynote and Laplink, helping them to establish their businesses in the UK and across the Nordic region.

Wallix launches online demo version of WAB 2.2

25/03/2011 - Wallix, a developer and distributor of software solutions for risk management regarding access to the critical IT infrastructure of businesses, has announced the launch of a demonstration version of Wallix AdminBation 2.2 (WAB 2.2) as a virtual machine (VM), which is accessible on line, from the company’s website (www.wallix.com).

“We receive numerous test requests from prospective customers who have read or heard about the WAB on the internet, through our clients, or through our partners. WAB VM, once it is downloaded from our website, makes it possible to meet, in practical terms, this request in a simple, direct manner.  In a nutshell, it is one more service aimed at IT and IT-security managers seeking [to deploy] access-management and IT-traceability tools,” explains Jean-Noël de Galzain, CEO of Wallix.

Since 1 February 2011, visitors to the Wallix website have been able to download a VM (Virtual Machine) version of Wallix AdminBastion 2.2 (WAB 2.2) in the VMWare ESX4 format: it is supplied with all the necessary documentation for the installation and the configuration of the virtual appliance. WAB 2.2 is the latest version of Wallix’s risk-management software suite.

The downloaded WAB VM makes possible the registration of five pieces of equipment and 15 simultaneous connections. This evaluation version allows users to test the WAB solution in all its richness of applications within a production environment, and to manage access to equipment and to applications through the WAB solution. The evaluation version also enables users to create rules of access control for different users and to manage data authentication. Finally, the WAB VM makes it possible to record the actions carried out on the target equipment (in RDP or in SSH).

For businesses which have put in place a VMWare environment, testing the WAB VM is a simple way of measuring the use and relevance of Wallix AdminBastion in real-time and in real-life conditions, within the client entity. The information-security manager will be able to assess, more particularly, the level of protection of critical equipment that the WAB affords, together with the permanent audit functionalities it features and the management of IT traceability tools it integrates (such as logs and videos of administration sessions).

The VMWare ESX4 version of the WAB can be downloaded from the web at the following internet address: www.wallix.com/index.php/demos/vm-trial-version

Jean-Noël de Galzain, CEO of Wallix, says: “We met the directors of Prevalent in May 2009 during a business trip to the US. Impressive meetings with their main clients led us to consider an offering which focused on the permanent audit of computer risks linked with providers, thanks to our WAB solution.  As a result, we have put their teams together and set up a WABDrive test platform with a view to installing the first models.”

Wallix security know how hits streets of New York

London, 10th October 2010 - European IT-security specialist and software developer Wallix has opened a subsidiary in the United States. The company, which already has offices in France and England, will promote Wallix AdminBastion (WAB) and Wallix LogBox in the US market from its headquarters in New York City.

"North America is the leading market in the world for Identity & Access Management software (IAM). WAB-style products have become indispensible in business thanks to the weight of financial regulations on listed companies and financial institutions, and the importance of risk management. It is the role of CISOs [Chief Information Security Officer] and risk managers to know how to trace every computer transaction on the network,” explains Jean-Noël de Galzain, CEO of Wallix.

In May 2010, the distributor became aware of commercial and technological opportunities in the US market for access-management and computer-traceability solutions. Wallix presented an advance preview of the 2.1 version of its flagship product and traceability tool, Wallix AdminBastion, at Techforum 2010 – an event for security professionals such as CISOs, risk managers and compliance managers.

Wallix established 150 contacts during the seminar and has set up a WABDrive platform, which is a private portal giving access to the main functionalities of the WAB system. This product is designed to demonstrate the simplicity and efficiency of the product to potential American clients.

“We have created WAB in such a way that it responds to the specific needs of the American market. The American clients are interested in being able to continually audit the quality of their IT providers’ performance, and to know how to technically qualify, and to economically quantify, the impact of an incident,” says Jean-Noël de Galzain.

Wallix’s aim is to position itself as a benchmark player in the US market for computer-systems security. Computer traceability tools are essential for all businesses which communicate via the web. Wallix offers privileged account users, risk managers, and even information managers who work outside the office the ability to record user sessions: all this makes WAB an indispensible security tool.

Wallix expects to have a total of about 10 significant accounts between now and the end of the year, and estimates that its American operations will generate US$1 million in revenue by the end of 2011.
